Mac OS X Leopard, iSync and Nokia 5300

February 1, 2008 | mac os x

Several days ago I have upgraded my Mac OS X to Leopard. Looks that everything work correct, but there was the problem with my Nokia 5300. When I tried to sync I saw message “No device activated…”. After researching I found the issue and new version iSync plugin begins synchronization process for my Nokia and Mac. Life becomes easy.

Leopard version of iSync plugin for Nokia 5300 you can download here. Unpack archive, run the installer and restart iSync.

If you are still with Tiger read this article.

Another thanks, since I’m a new 5300 owner. By the by, in all of this experimentation, have you worked out a way to actually make use of the music player using OSX?

  3. erka says:

    Hi, Jeff.
No, I have not. I am using my iPod as the music player.

Works great. But, is there anyway to sync the contact photos also?

  5. erka says:

Yes. It’s possible, but contact photos have bad size :( .
Please, select your mobile. Click on ‘More Options’ button and check ‘Synchronize pictures’. You must have something like this:

    iSync Nokia 3500 plugin

Hmm, didn’t work … I even deleted my contacts in address book and then resynced (which made all my contacts in my phone deleted but good thing I had it backed up to my SIM card), still no pictures.

  7. st40611 says:

Oh, apparently the images have been in Address Book first. Is there anyway to do the reverse?

  8. erka says:

I have tried attach image for some contact on my phone, sync with my mac and it works. I have no idea what is wrong :(

In Léopard, 10.5.5, the installation fail at end process : Not able to install some files in “/library/PhonePlugins”.

    Any ideas ?!?

  11. erka says:

    Hi Zolive.

It looks like you don’t have a administrator’s permissions. Is it true?

Please, try this installer and let me know it works or not.
